Falstaff, Wuerzburg, voice...
Hi there! This week was a nice one.
I was again few days in Wuerzburg as we had our second performance of Falstaff. I had some nice conversations during the performance. Many asked me how am settling down here in Chemnitz. I said mostly the city has some nice charming parts although there is not much going on here. The main thing is Akiho has a great job at the theater and we are getting use to living again together, after a year of long distance Wuerzburg - Chemnitz. I am also organizing some concerts and also developing some sort of strategy to gain new contacts after being 8 years in one theater. Now I am starting like from zero. To all my colleagues that are freelancing I join you, and I know how hard is for most to get even small jobs as singers. Now that I am starting a new chapter in my life I look forward to the challenges and the situations that may come my way.
I did enjoy this week's Falstaff, it is really nice to sing with the colleagues I know, and make music with orchestra. Gabor, our conductor is doing a very good job with the music. I like him becuase he is very musical and now we have known each other and worked in several operas so we know how to understand each other on stage.
I working on my voice, preparing repertoire for auditions but most important is that I am really taking the time to sort out some things I would like to improve on my singing. Concepts to which I am very familiar but I have not been able to really take the time to work on them, without the stress of learning new rep, performances, rehearsals, etc...
Even more, after my last performance of Falstaff during the middle of November I will have even more time to really dig into my voice and also prepare for some upcoming small projects. I really look forward to learning the new music for the upcoming projects. I love learning different music and always searching for a better way to interpret, to understand music.
I keep doing my 4 times per week exercise routine and my daily reading of Holiday and Tostoi.
I hope you are well and please take care. See you here next week.
