Falstaff, studying, Don Giovanni…

Hi there! This week I had a performance of Don Giovanni, it went really well. We finally started with stage rehearsals of Falstaff. Our stage director for this production is Magdalena Fuchsberger. We know each other since my time at the Opernstudio in Stuttgart back in 2011-12 where she was assistant of stage director. She is really friendly and this will be our first production together, so I am really looking forward to working with her and I hope that our Falstaff is a good production.

This week I am learning "Una furtiva lagrima" from L'elisir d'amore (Donizetti) in German. It is challenging to change language of an aria you already know. It has been really interesting to find out how to sing an aria that I know really well in Italian. The work I am doing is really intensive and I have to keep a very rigorous way of slowly find it out how to phonate in a free way although I am singing many more consonants plus adding a lot of different closed vowels.

I also continue with my 4 time per week exercise routine and reading daily the "Daily Stoic" by Holiday. Please take care and see you next week.
