Hoffmann, Stuttgart, Repertoire…

This week we continue with the rehearsals of Hoffmann, we already had the Sitzprobe and some Orchestra rehearsals. I just finished reading as well the book of Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel. It was really interesting and a useful reminder of how we think about money and how our emotional decisions have a big impact on it. Also how the terrain of investments and savings is still in a very young stage on the path of human evolution. Very important as well the role "luck" plays in this equation and to accept the fact that no matter how much financial education you can have, still all can go wrong or most of it, but still you can make a big win if one or two investments make it and get successfull out of the many you make. Also the importance of compounding... I really like the way he describes it works and how he quotes authors of books I previously read. So, I am in no position to actually give my point of view because I am a baby in terms of financial knowledge but I can say I really liked this book and if you are curious, this is one book you could read to get into this topic.

Right now I am seating in a coffee in Stuttgart, we came to visit friends of ours, we had Ramen for lunch and now Akiho and a friend are speaking in Japanese so I brought my laptop knowing in advance that Akiho wanted to speak mostly Japanese with this particular friend. So I was fine with it and decided I make time now to write these lines.

This week I finally got again to dig into audition repertoire. I want to put on shape again 4 or 5 arias for auditions and whenever the chance comes be ready for it. Normally in these few years being at the theater I get very little time to work in my audition arias and I miss that time where I could just focus on them. Now I have some time while rehearsing Hoffmann because my 2 small roles give the chance to practise other things.

This week I am also searching online which theaters are playing what, and also searching for emails in order to write to theaters requesting auditions. Hopefully this season I will be able to have more auditions, now that theaters are starting to make more of them and I hope to get some engagements, but who knows, all I can do is prepare myself as best as I can for whenever the opportunity comes.

I hope you are well and see you here next week.
