New season started…
This week started with an Operetta concert on Monday. It went really well, it was a long program but beautiful music. Singing Operetta is no joke, actually it has many details and musically speaking one can create many colors and there are different tempi and dynamics. I really enjoyed it, Akiho and I gave a nice concert and people was happy with it and we were too. We sang at the beautiful Rossini Saal in Bad Kissingen. It was a concert that was planned few years ago but Covid hit and there you go, 3 years later it finally happened. I do hope we can sing there again, the place is beautiful and really nice to sing in.
On Thursday we started the new season here at the theater, and we started the end rehearsals for Hoffmann where I sing Nathanael and Spalanzani. For me this production is just about having fun and share the stage with the colleagues. These 2 roles are not really for me, but these are the trades unfortunately of being in an ensemble in a theater here in Germany and I will do my best to portray them properly. I for the first time in 6 seasons am starting a more or less relax season which I also appreciate. Thanks to that I can focus on my next roles which are Tito and Edgardo, plus I had the energy to put the Operetta concert. So I decide to take this as a good luck, because of these small roles I can focus on another music which is very important I prepare well. Also because of this I could enjoyed very much Japan this summer and gave concerts without feeling the pressure of preparing the very demanding role of Hoffmann. So, all good.
Now that we are back in our more or less normal routine, I continue with my reading, this time I am reading another Murakami and also started reading this week the book "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan Housel. Both books really interesting. I also started re reading my notes on "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius, which I wrote down on my yellow notebook speacially and only for this title.
I still feel very emotional from our trip to Japan this summer. I had great little moments throughout the trip. Memories come to my mind very often during the day and night. I felt also so inspired by the experiences lived over there. I hope this motivation and inspiration do not fade away with the passing of time in this coming season.
This week I did workout three times instead of 4 but I compensated them with doing twice running, for 7k on Friday and 8k on Saturday. Plus keeping an eye on my food intake.
I will do my best to keep working hard but specially more efficient and cleverly than in the past. I did discovered things on my singing during my time in Japan that I hope I can keep and develop during this season at the theater and at the future concerts.
See you here next week, take care.
