Jumping in Augsburg, Chemnitz, reading...
Hi there! This week was full of surprises. It all started on Monday when I got a call from Theater Augsburg asking me if I could go and help them with singing Edgardo, their tenor was sick and they needed someone to sing BO5 and the HP (pre-general rehearsal). Fortunately I could do it, as I had no performance or important rehearsal at the theater here in Wuerzburg. Thanks as well, to our conductor Gabor, which is preparing for our production of Don Giovanni, thank you for letting me do this jump in. I had a very nice but challenging task of getting my Edgardo in 24 hours back to sing 2 full rehearsals with orchestra and complete run throughs, so I sang the whole part twice in 2 days. After singing Camille de Rosillon for the last almost 2 months, was a big jump into Edgardo, but I must say I really enjoyed it and they were glad I could help out, the Operndirektor was really supportive and grateful which I was too. To sing Donizetti is always very nice for me and my voice, I believe. After singing the rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday, I went to Chemnitz to visit my Akiho. There we rehearsed for our small concert of this evening (Sunday 3rd December 23). We did an almost 30 minute concert for the Advents Calendar, at the foyer of the theater. We selected some latinamerican Christmas songs and it went really well, people seemed very pleased and somwhat moved by the nice songs. I am so glad I did this concert with Akiho and a Japanese pianist plus a german bass who was at the same time our Santa Claus for the evening at the theater.
I keep reading the Laws of Human Nature by Greene and Daily Stoic by Holiday. I got, through a Podcast I was watching the other day, the book "Cues" by Vanessa Van Edwards, very interesting and easy to read and entertaining so far. Also saw some videos of Joe Navarro and ex FBI agent, which talks about all the non verbal communication, I am loving learning more about all the non verbal cues, which total between 60 and aprrox 85 % of all our communication, even more than words, yet we pay so little attention to them. As you may know I really enjoy learning and to learn about our behaviour fascinates me.
Please, take care and see you next week.
