New Year…

New Year...

This week we had performances of Plim and on 31st we had double performance of it. It is a short piece so it was ok.

This week as mostly every week I was focusing on excercises to improve my technique. This week I was very aware of my breathing and the way I attack the high notes and really searching for the right amount of air going through my vocal chords to make the right sound and also focusing on the coloring of some vowels specially the italien "e" and the italian "a". It was really heplful to watch again on Youtube some interviews with some singers I really admire and had very impresive careers, among them Gregory Kunde, Rockwell Blake, Lauri Volpi and Gigli, all of them tenors with great career and for whom I have the deepest respect. I feel grateful to hear their words cause they contain what it works for them and how they used the instrument they had to its maximum potential. I am so happy they left these videos or audios in the case of Gigli and Volpi, where they talk about their technique and their approach to music.

This week we made a little trip to Dresden with mama who leaves already like on 10 days, so this was our last trip together. It was really nice for me to also see it for the first time and I would love one day to sing at the beautiful Semperoper Dresden. We had the chance to see a service at the Frauenkirche and from the Organ place. Akiho is acquainted with the Kantor and organist of the church so he invited us to see him playing and it was really nice. It was nice to take pictures of very nice buildings in the heart of the city.

As I love taking photos and I try to take my camera in any opportunity that I have I must say Dresden has some very nice spots where one can take very nice ones. We were lucky cause our room had an amazing view towards the Frauenkirche. I will post a photo on my instragram (Which I rarely use for posting stuff) from the view of our room. We had at the Theater already some coleagues that tested positive for the Omicron variant and I must say that we just got the results of our PCR tests and we are all negative, so I feel relieved.

Next week we have some Plim performances and one of Capuleti, let us hope they are hapenning but it looks like they will be cancelled.
