New conductor and 2 guets in our Capuleti

This week we continue with rehearsals of the magic flute. I must admit although rehearsals take a slower pace rehearsing with the choir I am happy that we can do it again after such a long time due to the Covid 19. The male choir is there on stage in several scenes throuhout the opera and it is really nice to have more than few singers on stage finally. Particularly I get along really well with few choir singers and it lifts the mood on those long choir rehearsals cause we make small jokes or remember stuff from previous productions and make fun of it.

This week we had performance of Capuleti on friday, it went treally well and the audience was like almost in premier mood. They were really positive and very warm at the end with their applause to all of us involved in the opera. We had that night a new conductor David Todd who is our Studienleiter at the theater and 2 guests replacing the roles of Lorenzo and Capellio (due to illness) singing at the side of the stage. Our Capellio was acting while the guest was singing and our Lorenzo was not there at all so we had our Reggieseur Mario del Monaco taking on stage the role while the other guest was singing the part. So it was as you can imagine quite interesting.

I really like singing belcanto and this time with Tebaldo I could put into practise some of the stuff I have been working on and I am glad it worked out. I must keep getting better and I am working hard on it but I am glad when I can see progress. This wish of mine always wanting to improve has nothing to do with what the others think, it is truly a passion of mine to whatever I do or try, to do it the best I can. The pact is only and only with myself cause I truly believe we come to this world to learn and train and be the best version of ourselfs, since I was a child I have this mindset. I thank my parents for giving me a good education and values and specially the support they showed towards me persuing a singing career, I love you Adi and Atalo.

By the way to end up this blog, my dear Akiho Tsujii has birthday on 31st of October and we celebrated on the 30th night with colleagues from the theater and some private friends and it was really nice to have a kind of first big reunion in our flat since we moved in toegher. I wish her many more years to come and a life full of happiness and health.
