3 performances this week…
Hi there, we continue this week with rehearsals of Magic flute and we finally ran for the first time more or less the first act, it was nice to see how it feels because up until now we were rehearsing different scenes but now I got the idea of the whole act. There is still a lot of work to do to on the staging but we still have time to make it better, plus our conductor is really musical and well prepared so I have faith we will end up with a good production of Magic flute here at Mainfranken Theater Wuerzburg which will premiere on 27th November. Also I am very excited because a very important person will come to see the premiere and I am really looking forward to it, this person will see me for the first time on the stage since I came to Europe in 2008.
This week has been busy as we had 3 performances, one of Capuleti and two of Gianni Schicchi. Today Sunday I just came back from the last performance of the week, we had it at 3pm. This week also one of our colleagues is sick and the last 2 shows of Schicchi we had a different guest. I do enjoy meeting new colleagues and working with them.
Today I decided to focus on the performance very much on my breathing and support, I warmed up really well and went through the aria "avete torto" a couple of times and I felt quite good about it. The next time I will be singing Rinuccio will be in February so I wanted to do a very good last one for this year. Thankfully it went really well. I have the tendency on every performance try something new either on the stage acting, vocally or musically, I am always exploring and searching for better ways of singing and interpreting the roles I sing, plus it makes every performance very exciting and challenging for me. Of course without compromising the quality of it and with a lot of respect to the audience and my colleagues on stage and orchestra.
This week, as for the last 2 years since I started, did my excersice routine after my first coffee in the morning. Normally I do exercise 4 to 5 times a week taking around one hour and a half per session. I use my own body weight and I also use some light weights. During this past 2 years I have developed my own training program based on what I have read and watched ( many many hours of Youtube videos). This week I must admit was really hard to do exercise, with rehearsals and performances I do wake up a bit more tired than usual but I am very disciplined and I am glad I managed to do it. After doing exercise even if I am tired from the day before it acutally really helps me to feel less tired and feel generally with more energy throuhout the day. All of this together with a very healthy diet and doing intermitten fasting.
That is it for this week, now I will continue watching with my girlfriend a series on Netflix that she really likes and I must admit kind of like it too, the series is called Luis Miguel, anyways I wish you all a nice evening and until next time. Take care.
