Rehearsing Tamino and…

This week so far has been quite busy. On monday we started here at Mainfrankentheater Wuerzburg with rehearsals of Magic flute from Mozart and I will be singing the role of Tamino. I am looking forward to this production very much as I already sang the role few years ago in Switzerland but it will be the first time I sing it here in Germany and I am really excited about it. At the same time we already had a performance of I Capuleti e it Montecchi on wednesday and this sunday will perform again the role of Rinuccio of Gianni Schicchi, so pretty busy and with diferent repertoire in one week. Rehearsals of Magic flute are going well and the cast is really nice. Here in Germany it is quite common that in a theater like where I work we will be doing mutliple operas at the same time and because the small size of our solosit ensemble we must do often important roles simultaneously and also from different repertoire, so it is challenging at times but now here is my 6th season and I am getting use to it but some days are not so easy with all the rehearsing and performing different operas like in this case 3 dif. operas in one week.

This past 2 weeks I have been trying out most of the things Mr. Carangelo recommended me to do, partly it is very similar to what the tenor Francisco Araiza teaches, but both have different approach to it. While I was in the Opera Studio at the Staatstheater Stuttgart I also studied a Konzert Exam at the Musik Hochschule there and my teacher was Francisco Araiza for one year. I must say it was a very nice experience to meet him and learn from him musically and technically. I really respect the way he approaches music and specially me as a tenor was really great to have him coaching me all the arias and roles that he himslef interpreted on stages all over the world for several years at a top quality.

I am always searching for the right sound and the best quality for my voice and having the recent imput from Carangelo keeps me very entertained during practising time and applying it. Specially this week on the three different roles Tamino, Rinuccio and Tebaldo, so I find it really quite interesting.

Having mentioned that this week has been really busy with rehearsing and preforming it was one of the quickest weeks in the last few months... time flyes for me when I am really busy.

I wish you a great day and until next time.
