Haydn, last concert, Holidays...
Hi there, this week has been really nice, preparing for my last concerts of the season here at Mainfranken Theater Wuerzburg. The end of 7 seasons working in this theater. We prapared "The seasons" by Haydn. We had rehearsals this week and 2 concerts planned, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday. The concert yesterday (Saturday) was cancel due to the bad weather (which in the end it did not rain at the time of the concert), and the other today (Sunday). We did the concert today and it went really well. I think everyone Choir, Orchestra, Conductor and Singers we were looking forward to finish this season. I was really looking forward to this final concert, after a long season and a long month of July, where I had so many things to learn and sing. I am so happy that tomorrow morning we will fly to Mexico City. It has been 2 years since I was last there as last year I was in Japan the whole summer (a fantastic one), and I am really looking forward to see my family and friends again. And of course the food... we are really looking forward to eat Mexican food.
This week I keep studying Japanese, I am going this summer to Japan, and I want to be able to speak a bit more than the last time, and specially to understand more. The book "Genki" has been of great help understanding the grammar and learning in a very organic way, plus I keep watching youtube videos and listening to podcasts.
Tomorrow we fly to Mexico and we are really happy but right now busy packing our suitcases and all the things we bring to the family and friends. I will be gone from Wuerzburg for some weeks, and it will be a long time I wont be home, so I am a bit sad about not sleeping on my bed for such a long time. But I am really looking forward for the adventure that will come this summer and for the many people I will meet and experiences.
About reading I bought yet another book of Ryan Holiday "the daily stoic", and so far really nice reading it. I read few books of him already and I really enjoy them. He introduced me to the old masters of the stoic philosophy around 2 years ago. Because of Ryan, I bought Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and Seneca's letters, and I so very much enjoyed reading them. I have learnt a lot from reading such minds who were alive almost 2000 years ago.
So next week Mexico and family so all is good. I hope you are well and please take care.
