Haydn, teaching, learning...

Hi there! This week has been about studying Japanese and learning Haydn's Seasons for the upcoming concerts next week. I was also teaching my japanese student via Skype.

After last week performances of Magic flute in Regensburg and the previews week the Opera Galas I must say , I am really tired not so much vocally but my whole body, so this week was about recovering from the busy last couple of weeks. I am glad this week I can prepare the Haydn at my own pace and also making sure I that I am fit for next week with all the rehearsals and the 2 concerts.

About my Japanese, I have been learning on and off a bit, for example last year before going to Japan for the summer were I was for 5 weeks, I was studying really hard for like 1 month and it really helped. When we came back and we had this long season at the theater I was not able to study how I wanted but since few week I started again to Study but watching Youtube videos, anime, and hearing podcasts on Spotify about Japanese grammar. Recently I bought a book call Genki which is really helping me to clarify many grammar and excersice and learn new words and structure, of which is until now the most difficult language which I am approaching. It is really difficult, but I am commited to learn it, no matter how long it takes, I will someday be able to understand and speak the basics. This week, I was also working on my voice, working on technique.

Akiho and I are so much looking forward to our Holidays. One week more and finally we will finish our season here at the theater. I am already buying souvenirs for the family and already feeling my stomach longing for some nice mexican food. Akiho as well is really looking forward to it, she loves mexican food.
