Lucia, Tito, Covid...
Hi there! I hope you stay healthy. This week I got Covid, it is the second time I get it. So I had to cancel today's (Sunday) performance. On thursday evening I started to have a weird feeling in my throat, but since I was just sick with a cold 2 weeks ago, I did not make anything of it, just thought I could be a bit tired, but on Friday I deifnitely felt a bit weird. That day we had our second performance of Lucia, I sang and it went really well, but when I arrived to the theater I was feeling also my nose congested and closed. I was concern about how would I perform but not that I was really getting sick. After the show, once at home, I definitely felt like getting a cold again. I went to sleep but I woke up in the middle of the night because I had pain at the back of my throat. I did Covid test twice and both times it showed very positive. I also believe I had a bit of fever after our performance of Lucia. So, anyways, today we had performance of Tito which i had to cancel due to this horrible Covid. It is a shame, I was really looking forward to sing it again. Nervertheless it is far more more important to recover from this, and specially not to pass it on to my colleagues.
We went for two days to Berlin to clear our minds and enjoy a bit the big city. It was very nice, we stayed in a neighbourhood that we never visited together, it was really nice discovery, even we got to find a mexican tortilleria, which is great. We bought some and tried it fresh out of the machine. It was a little taste of heaven. We also mananged to go to our favorite Japanese places, and have delicious coffee in places like 19 grams, Ben Rahim, 5 elephant.
This week I kept reading Robert Greene, and some Haiku. I also started reading again, a book I have had for many years but I left it in Mexico and I just got it back recently. It is a book call The Actor and the Target by Declan Donnellan. This book was recommended by one of my acting teacher, years back when I was studying at the Royal Academy my Masters Degree.
I hope I recover soon that I can perform this coming Thursday again Edgardo. Stay healthy and see you here next week.
