Chemnitz, Berlin, reading...

Hi there! I hope you are well. This week was for me a week of introspection, specially towards my uncertain future. We are still sorting out boxes with music and we finally got some bookshelves to put our music and books. I am glad to see my books finally out, so I get a bit more the filling we are at home, my new place to be here, in Chemnitz at least for this coming season.

We decided to take a quick trip to Berlin for 4 days. We went to our favorite coffee shops and we had some nice Japanese food and went to a japanese food market. We walked around Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg, the Museum Island and around Anhalten Banhof mostly. We also visited for the first time a bunker, with mostly the story around the WWII, it was heavy, but I learnt a lot, things I did not know at all about it and also many thigns I studied back when I was student but complitely forgot. We also went to the Humboldt Forum and visited the main museum, we did not managed to see everything because we were tight on time but we will go again next time to continue where we left. It was a really rich and interesting collection and it is great its entrance is free.

I managed to go jogging at Park am Gleisdreieck. I love somehow jogging in Berlin, the parks are big and full of contrast, at least to me. I never run before at that area. The last time I jog there was in Tempel Hof at the huge running track, once an Airport.

I started reading on a recommendation "The artist's way" by Julia Cameron. I have just started and I already think I will commit to the daily writing of 3 pages... if you wanna know why, give it a quick look up online. There are several videos about the book and about the 3 pages a day.

This week we also went twice to the theater to practice a bit. I worked on just technique and some audition repertoire. There some places where I really want to dig, to clear and find a better way. There are some arias with old habits that I have to correct, becuase they do not belong anymore to the way I sing now. But muscle memory is a thing and one must be really aware of the old habits and update them to the current hopefully improved way of singing, and , the most rapid way to find out those places is by recording oneself and listen to it.

I keep reading Daily Stoic and Toltoi. It is really nice to start my days reading a little bit of these two. I kept my 4 time a week exercise routine.

I hope you are well, take care and see you next week.
