Mozart Requiem, Gibellato, World Cup...
Hi there, I hope your week was good. This week I had again a Mozart Requiem to sing. I just came back and it went really well. It was in Bad Mergentheim. This time with Akiho as soprano and Marzia Marzo (colleague at the theatre) as mezzo. It was nice to have them both next to me singing this beautiful music. By the way, yesterday we had the first snow of this winter, and on the way to the rehearsal the countryside was really nice with some parts covered in snow. Today here in Wuerzburg the snow has melted and it is gone.
These last 6 days were of intense studying and coaching with coach Stefano Gibellato. He comes around once a year. This time we focussed in Tito and Edgardo. We spoke a lot about recordings and about singing in general. He told me a couple of stories. He has been around long in this musical world, mainly working at Teatro La Fenice, in Venice. We also spoke about technique and his advice helped me to understand better the nature of Tito and Edgardo. It was also very interesting working on some of the recits of Tito. We managed to go through all Edgardo and most of Tito.
Today the world cup started with Qatar against Equador with the final score favoring the guest Equador 2 to 0. I am really looking forward on Tuesday to the first game for Mexico against Polonia. Our team is right now not the best version, there are some very important players who are injured and will be missing the World Cup. Anyways, I hope Mexico can win this game, because they will go against Argentina (with Messi) on the game after and the latter is one of the favorite teams to win the World Cup.
This week I was not able to read much because my head is quite busy sorting out several things, among them, my singing and studying, future, etc...
I hope you are well and I wish you a nice week ahead of you.
