Don Giovanni, Sevilla, family…

Hi there! This week I had the first musical rehearsals with Calesso (Conductor) for our Falstaff. I had also on Wednesday performance of Don Giovanni. On Thursday Akiho and I flew to Sevilla and we stayed until today (Sunday). It was a quick visit but a beautiful one. This trip was special for many reasons, among them were; it was the first time for Akiho in Spain, I was there for the first time since years ago when I went last time to Barcelona. But the principal reason was that my Granpa was there for the first time after 30 years. He used to live there for 12 years back in mid 70's and 80's. My grandpa, his wife, my uncle and his wife with my young cousin and the mother of my uncle's wife are in Spain for one last trip perhaps all together. My Grandpa is almost 87 so this is perhaps the last chance for him to be at what was once his home. It was really nice to see them for the few days. I did not expect Sevilla to be so lively but to my surprise it is extra busy during Easter week. Being one of the most Catholic regions in the world they celebrate this time of year with great fervor. Although it was rainy we still managed to do a lot. I took a lot of photos and had a great time with my family. It was really important for me to be with them in this trip.

Needless to say, the food was amazing and we ate a lot until our stomachs reach over capacity and walked a lot as well. I also must not foget to mentioned that I found few coffee places were I drank delicious coffee. I am so glad they have so many options, among them Muy Cafe, Hispalica and Delatribu were among my favorite coffee places. I was also very impressed with how nice the people from Sevilla are. It is definitely a Latin vibe that I really miss living in Germany. It is just on my DNA to be in lively places, full of restaurants and people walking at midnight like if it was a midday in Germany. We Latin people definitely live differently. I am from Mexico and being in Spain feels very close to my country and although its differences, we speak the same language and yes, culture is different from Mexican but we share also a lot. I can only say it felt very much like home being there somehow. Plus having family there was the cherry on the cake.

I cannot say enough how special and deep was for me to experience this trip with my family and specially with my grandpa. It was also very special to share family time with Akiho. I treasure a lot these moments in life and definitely a beautiful experience I will forever be grateful for.

We just flew back from Spain and tomorrow I have performance of an Operetta, otherwise I would have stayed for few more days. Kept doing my 4 days per week exercise routine and reading “Daily Stoic” by R. Holiday. See you next week and please take care.
