Lucia, Chemnitz, lustige...
Hi there! This week I had a performance of "Die lustige Witwe", it was I believe the 10th show. It went really well and this time we had another conductor, this time Ulrich Meier, he is a pianist as well at the theater. He is very musical and clear, he did a very good job.
I had for the first time in months three days were I could focus only studying Edgardo, I really needed it in order to put it again in my voice. I am checking the whole role and also, many places where I want to make a better phrasing and improve it, in comparison with season. I am glad I will finally sing with Akiho in an opera, after more than half a year not being together on stage.
The coming week will be really challenging but I am looking forward to it. I will have rehearsals of Lucia, then after the GP on Thursday I will have a performance of Don Giovanni on Friday. Afterwards one day rest, and on Sunday premiere of Lucia di Lammermoor. So I have to be really smart how to pace myself in order to arrive until Sunday in good shape to sing the first performance this season as Edgardo.
Right now I am in Chemnitz and I just saw and Operetta which I believe I never heard of, " Der Tenor der Herzogin. Akiho is in it and she did great. What a crazy staging, she did really well and although the theatre was almost empty it was a good performance and the quality in general really good.
I keep reading "Daily Stoic" by R. Holiday and also took again "The Laws of Human Nature" by Greene. I also keep my 4 day routine exercise. See you here next week, take care.
