Ryland, Birthday, rehearsals…

Hi there! Just came back home after having a small gathering with some colleagues from the theater. Today is my Birthday so Vero from the ensemble organized the reunion and she cooked and prepared a very nice lentils soup and a New York blueberry cheese cake, both super tasty. Thank you Vero and to the colleagues who were there.

This week Ryland Davies a Welsh tenor and great teacher left this world. He may rest in peace. I studied with him in London my Masters Degree at the Royal Academy of Music, between 2008 and 2011. He was a great mentor and a wonderful musician and a beautiful human being. I learnt so much from him, his stories, the love for making music was so inspring, at least to me. We shared a very similar musicality so, it was the right teacher for me at that moment in my development as a musician, we vibrated in the same way. Ryland, was, is and will be, always in my heart and memories. He encouraged me a lot and I learnt a lot from him, we had many great lessons in which we both made music together, and our hearts were happy. He and I understood so well each other musically, and we shared the same vision about singing and interpreting as well the sharing emotions with every sound and word. I feel so grateful that I was able to met him and studied with him for 3 years at RAM. He was part of one of the periods of my life when I have been the happiest, as well as one of the most challenging ones. Thank you Rylandino, I will see you one day up in the firmament and we will sing together again and have so many laughs like in the Academy times. Sleep well and see you later.

Rehearsals of Witwe going on and getting to the end phase of rehearsals and one more week to go until premiere on 25th November. I am looking forward to it. I also keep reading and working on my voice.

I got some nice presents from Akiho, among them, as you know I have a little thing for coffee so, she got me a Syphon from Hario, it is a very interesting method to prepare a delicious cup of coffee. Also got some nice socks from Vero and Milena. I keep reading Daily Stoic (Ryan Holiday) and "Think big" by Grace Lordan, I am going at a slower speed cause all the rehearsals but nevertheless I keep reading if it is only for few minutes a day. See you next week, take care.
