Freiburg…

This week I traveled with mum to Freiburg. This beautiful city was my first city on my return to Germany after being at the Opernstudio in Zurich and then also freelancing. I came to Freiburg thanks to my best friend Luis who also plays in the Orchestra at the Theater. I auditioned for a small role first but very short after they offered me some performances of L'elisir d'amore where I could sing for the 2nd time one of my favorite roles Nemorino. Then I did the small role I was hired to do first and the I sang Gaston in Jerusalem by Verdi.

I wanted to show my mum where I met one of my now best friends and colleagues at the Theater. For example meeting my very good friend Susana and her little daughter or my good friend Juan and his beautiful family with a very caring wife and two amazing daughters. Also she met my best friend Luis and his beautiful family with his lovely wife and three amazing girls. Luis is from Singapore and we met back in 2008 and we shared a room for a year back when I started my studies at the Royal Academy in London. Since then we lived again two more times in different places and met over the years, even studied at some point at the same time in Stuttgart and then working together in Freiburg. To him I owe many things including the opportunity to audition at the theater in Freiburg. He literally went to the conductor of the orchestra and requested an audition for me and it was granted. Thanks to that opportunity I could make my return to Germany which now has been my home for the last 5 years and a half, now working in Wuerzburg but thanks to that first step in Freiburg. We stayed few days so we got to see them and had time to enjoy their food and company and we even went to the mountains where the snow was shining and could see the beautiful Swiss alps in the distance. It was a beautiful trip.

I am just coming back from another performance of The Magic Flute. it went relly well, I like singing Tamino and today I felt very good vocally although I was tired from the week travelling with mum and speaking so much Spanish this week but I could rest my voice yesterday and that helped a lot.
