Weimar, Jena, rehearsing…

Hi there! This week was an interesting one. I went to Jena to start rehearsals of Massenet’s Thérèse. Like I mentioned last week it is a later work of Massenet and it is a short 2 act opera.

I am staying in Weimar and commuting to Jena, a dear friend of my let me borrow her little flat to stay over during the rehearsal period. I am fortunate to have where to stay, both cities Weimar and Jena are very expensive cities to rent a place because both are University towns, so to find something for just one person is really expensive.

After rehearsing the first act of this Thérèse and interpreting the role of Armand has been really nice. Our stage director goes quite fast and we go really quickly through the scenes, but I am enjoying the process. Now, this weekend at home I dedicated to memorized the second act which we will start next week. Working with new colleagues has been really refreshing and nice, we are a small but nice group of very easy going people and all of us just want to make the best out of this production.

I hope during this time I can see a bit of Weimar and visit some museums and just walk around the city.

I keep reading daily to Holiday and Tolstoi and as well keeping with my 4 times a week exercise routine.

I hope you are well and please take care. See you next week.
