Germany, Studying, Jetlag…

Hi there, compared to the last weeks, I have not much to tell now. This week I was completely dealing with Jetlag, this time really hit me, and I just kept waking up really, really early. I am very motivated towards getting on with my singing and preparing arias for auditions.

After being away in Japan for over 20 days I feel very strange being back in Germany. I miss already the food, the buildings, the colors, the life over there. I am really looking forward to be back in the summer.

Next week I have a small audition which I will tell you about next week after I have done it. But it would be for my first Massenet and I always enjoy singing in French. About singing I have been re reading some of Caruso’s books, Richard Miller and Anthony Frissell. All of it is really interesting specially applying it to my singing in different ways and of course, all is open to interpretation. This of course could be confusing but also really rewarding. I keep exploring possibilities and ways to improve my singing and I am happy to do so. The perception of true things is the most difficult thing to achieve specially when talking about singing where the imagination goes off this planet. Having said that, many concepts are right, but badly interpreted, and most of the conclusions even if different, of great singers and teachers, all of them have some truth in it. Like parts of a puzzle and half truths but nevertheless crucial for the understanding of the whole picture. On top of that is the individual brain and voice of each human on this planet. To find which is best for you is a life long voyage.

I started watching a series called Jin (Japanese series) in Netflix and I really like it. I keep reading daily stoic, Tolstoi and keeping up with my exercise routine 4 times a week.

Take care and see you next week.
