Birthday, Falstaff, Farewell...
This week was full of trains and twice Wuerzburg, plus it was my last performance at Mainfranken Theater Wuerzburg. It was also my Birthday.
I had the last two performances in Wuerzburg of Falstaff, being the last one Today. It was a very nice performance, my Aki came to see the show and also Igor our former Basso at the theater. It was really nice that after the show both the Operndirektor and our Intendant spoke and gave me some gifts. What they said was really nice and I take their nice words to heart and I will always keep Wuerzburg and my time for 8 years at the theater close to my heart. I also said few words and it was a very nice farewell, I am happy I spent my time with nice colleagues and make so much music and sang so many roles. I am also closing one chapter and starting a new one as a freelancer. I spent almost my thirties there so I did not only grew there as a singer but also as a person. Through 8 years so many things happened and so much I learned and struggled as well, but always trying to learn from every experience good or bad. To tell here about my 8 years in Wuerzburg would take so many pages, but I will save you the pain hahaha.
I have so much gratitude towards my time at the theater there, I learnt so much about the Opera world and also about myself. I met with different repertoire and managed to get to know different composers and also understand and learn to interpret different styles and see how each composer wrote differently for the voice, some with more understanding and some not really clear but nevertheless always interesting and good to learn different repertoire.
I am really tired from the last few weeks with so much travel, next week will be finally a bit more calm and I can again charge energy and keep working on my voice and really explore the way G. Kunde suggested me to persue.
I turned 39 and I cannot believe how quick life is. I spent a nice morning with Aki on 12th November and later I took a train back to Wuerzburg because I had the next day performance. It was a relax Birthday but Aki and I celebrated a bit and I got from here nice gifts. Thank you Aki.
I keep doing my exercise routine and reading daily Holiday and Tolstoi.
Take care and see you next week.
