Tito, Alex Webb, Farewell...

At the theater we continue with rehearsals of Tito, this week we had some rehearsals on the stage and not on the rehearsal room. It was nice to be on stage to get a more accurate idea of the actual space. Due to the fact that the rehearsal room is smaller than the real stage, it changed a lot the way we interact and use the space. It changed the way also the characters react to each other, there are in some places more space and in others less. We have unfortunately little time to rehearse on stage until now, so we are still sorting out and making changes to the staging due to space. Also, to add to the challenge, the scenography is a bit different and it is at the moment more of a problem than a help... we have less back stage people than normal so they are struggling to do their job properly.

I went through the photographs of Alex Webb in "The Suffering of Light", a book that covers over 30 years of photos and work. I found some of the pictures really interesting and beautiful, some of them have a surreal touch and some other the way he uses colour and contrast is great. I am glad he added some photos of Mexico. I am still new to the deep research of photographers and I love discovering and learning specially the way they see photography and the way they think. Also I managed to finish a book that I really recommend "The street photographers manual" by David Gibson and foreword by Matt Stuart. It is a very nice and easy to digest yet deep book about photography, with a lot of concrete and clear information, as well as examples of few photographers to which one can turn to and look at their work and what is their main topic, subject, techniques, visions, humor, etc. Now with the social media and internet is really easy to reach and see the work of literally almost any photographer for free, so the web is great to learn.

Today Akiho had Anatevka performance, and afterwards was the fairwell party of our dear colleague Marzia Marzo with whom we shared a lot of productions in the last 6 years, and we have very good memories and I wish her all the best to whatever is to come. We did togehter for example, Barbiere di Siviglia, Helena, Cosi fan Tutte, Rinaldo, I Capuleti, among few others. She decided it was time to go and to look somewhere else in her career as a singer as well as human being, I hope she gets all the good things that she wishes for. We will miss you but we are happy you will go to your next adventure in life, whatever that may be.

For now I say bye to you and see you next week, here. Take care.
