End of the season…

This week I had the last three performances of the season, on Wednesday, Saturday and today (Sunday). I am glad this season has come to an end. The performance tonight was a special one. We had our assistant director Mario del Monaco ( he did really well for being so last minute jump in) protraying the role of Onegin (Our Onegin was sick) and someone else sang the role at one side of the stage. On top of that, we had Carlo Benedetto, which works here at the theater, conducting the performance tonight for the first time and on a very short notice. He did really well and I think he has a brilliant future if he wishes it. In my opinion, he has big musicality and a natural way of making music which most of the time is very comfortable for all of us who are under his baton. The audience was really warm tonight and I am so grateful I was able to sing and become Lensky on stage. Lensky is a role that I definitely want to keep in my repertoire for the rest of my career. It suits me not only musically but vocally and character wise.

Next week we only have some stage rehearsals and KHP of Hoffmann on Wednesday and that is it for this season. By the way, Yesterday we had a new Tatjana. Our Silke Evers was having a cold so we had a guest singing her challenging role. Tonight Silke was there and it was very nice to have her back for the last performance. Unfortunately Mr. Horn was sick and he could not sing his last performance as Onegin. I wish him a quick recovery.

I continue to study Japanese and I focused more this week on what I have learnt so far. Also taking a bit of a rest from the study. I arrived to a point where suddenly all was just empty words. So I decided to better focus on what I have already learnt in the past few weeks. Also I took my camera out and took some pictures and I even took few photos during night time, shooting some stars. I must say I really need to improve on that, somehow I think the last time I tried to take photos of a night sky was like 2 years ago. So definitely I could put more time into it.

I read yesterday on my kindle the very short book called "How to steal like an artist" it was clear and concret. So it was a nice read and it gave me some ideas and made me think of things I want to try out or at least it put my brain in thinking modus. This is the second book I read by Austin Kleon. I also finish this week the Murakami book I was reading "what I talk about when I talk about running". I almost forgot, this morning, I finished as well the "Life of the stoics" by Ryan Holiday, with the last chapter being about Marcus Aurelius. It is a very nice book and I can highly reccomend to also read Metitations by Marcus Aurelius. I wrote about it in a previews blog I think within the last 2 months. As you can see, I do enjoy reading more than one book at the time. Sometimes I feel like it. The most accurate comparison would be like when watching Netflix, I do not only watch one series at a time, instead I watch like 2 or 3 at a time.

I have already in mind the next books I want to read and some I want to finish as well. I hope you are all well and see you here next week.
