Don Giovanni, Orchestra, reading…

Hi there! This week is the last before we start with rehearsals on stage with Orchestra for our production of Don Giovanni. Yesterday (Saturday) we had the Orchestra Sitz Probe. It went well for being the first time with them. Still, lots of work to do next week, in terms of balance, dynamics, etc. I do hope that we will do a very good Don Giovanni and that the premiere will go well. I am glad that during this busy week we have no performances of Die lustige Witwe, so I can focus on Don Ottavio. One of the 2 arias of Don Ottavio " il mio tesoro" has been added officially this week. It was planned no to do it, because of the version they wanted to do, but the reggiseur Markus Trabusch allowed me to do it. I am glad about it because it adds to Don Ottavio vocally and character wise, more depth. Because it is only recently added this week I have been working on it a lot. It is going well but I wish I had more time to prepare it, nevertheless, I am sure it will be fine for the premiere. But I have still way to go until I reach the level of interpretations, among those of Francisco Araiza and Jerry Hadley.

I keep my exercise routine 4 times per week and also reading "The daily stoic" by Ryan Holiday and also "Discourses" by Epictitus.

I hope you are well and please, take care. See you here next week.
