Rehearsals, Die lustige Witwe, reading...

Hi there! This week was a nice week, continue with rehearsals of Don Giovanni and I think we managed to get almost already through the entire opera. On the 10th we had another performance of Die lustige Witwe. I do enjoy singing Camille, it is nice and we do nice things on stage. The aria is demanding, beautiful music that I enjoy singing, and of course trying out every time some high notes, is always challenging but nice when it goes well.

This week besides my exercise schedule, I continue reading "Daily Stoic" by Ryan Holiday. I also reading "Discourses" by Epictitus, which is just so nice and such a useful read. Just few days ago I bought, after seeing few interviews with David Goggins, "Can't hurt me". Definitely you should google him. I heard already about him, through several podcasts where different people mentioned him. I started to get curious and decided to get the book and recently saw it in a bookstore nearby. So now that this book is in my hands I started with it, and the first 100 pages so far have been really engaging, with such strong and harsh childhood, but this guy turned his life to the right direction and has accomplished so much, in a word "respect". This morning I continued reading it and hopefully this next few days I will be able to finish it.

I want to mention quickly, just something personal. I think music has bring so much joy to my life, even in the sad moments music has been there for me and cheered me up. I can say that I think, life would be no life for me without music. I speak in general of this form of art not only classical music, just music that I love in general, different styles and timeframes. Such a beautiful way of nutrition for our soul and minds too. I think my best memories and also the worst ones are accompanied with a song or melodie, so rooted is music in my life and heart.

I hope you are well and having a nice weekend. Have a great week ahead of you and see you next week. Take care!
